Master Society
When COVID-19 pushed my high school online, every club’s events dissolved into a tangle of emails and conflicting calendars. Students felt disconnected, teachers worried about dwindling school spirit, and the question I kept hearing on virtual tours was, “Do kids even have a life anymore?” Determined to revive our community, I set out to create a single hub where clubs could post activities, avoid schedule clashes, and get quick faculty approval—despite having no budget, no official IT support, and only the view from my bedroom desk.
The platform launched within weeks, and the results were immediate: sanctioned events tripled in a semester, attendance rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, and two neighboring schools adopted the system after seeing its impact. Because I documented every process and trained the next cohort of student admins, the site continues to run today, keeping school life coordinated and vibrant. The experience showed me that with resourcefulness, clear communication, and stubborn follow-through, one person can turn chaos into a durable, community-wide solution.
